Self Move Extras
We understand moving home can be very costly, which is why many people choose to hire a van and do it themselves. However, it is not very cost effective to have to purchase all the equipment you need to safely move your valuable possessions. We have put together a range of additional extras available to add to your van rental.
Removal Blankets
The most essential items when transporting furniture is blankets. They protect furniture from scratching and scuffing against other furniture / boxes whilst in transit. We offer 20 high grade, clean removal blankets for just £10 in addition to your rental cost. For up to 1 week.
Sack Truck / Trolley
Not an essential, but certainly very useful. Particularly is there is a long walk from the property to the van. Also useful for being able to move larger/heavier items such as washing machines, fridges, etc with just one person. With a 150KG capacity they can handle most household items with ease. Just £15 in addition to your rental cost. For up to 1 week.
Furniture Skate
Another not essential, but very useful item. The skate can be used mainly within your home, to manoeuvre heavy larger items, in particular through doorways, round tight corners etc. Greatly reduces the risk of damaging your furniture, walls and doors. Also can be used to take items all the way to the van if the pathway is smooth enough. Just £10 in addition to your rental cost. For up to 1 week.
Straps
Another essential item when transporting your items in a van is straps. Useful for securing heavier or more fragile items to the side of the van. Then finally used to secure the entire load. To stop everything from moving around. A good tip for loading is to load the mattress's on as the last item across the load, and then use the straps to hold that in place. Effectively acting as a barrier. £5 for 5 ratchet straps in addition to your rental cost. For up to 1 week.
Packing Materials
We stock a full range of packing materials which are all listed on our packing materials page (Click Here). These range from various size boxes, garment carriers, tape, bubble wrap, polythene mattress and sofa bags and much more.
Self Storage
We work in partnership with Ramsey Self Store. They offer a range of flexible storage solutions at competitive prices. Storage can be very useful during the process of moving home. If you are downsizing then can be used to store items to save cluttering your new home. Some people prefer to gradually move their items over a period of time rather than all in one day. By utilising a storage unit you can move some items out of your home / garage ahead of the move date, and then into your new home at a later date, to take away alot of the stress that comes with 'moving day'.
